Testament ChoirFor many years Testament, the Youth Choir at First United Methodist Church, Arlington, has had a rich tradition of excellence. The choir leads the 8:15 a.m. worship service each week. In preparation for worship and other events, the choir rehearses weekly from 4:00-5:30 pm on Sunday afternoon. Testament consists of 7th through 12th graders.
In addition to singing anthems in worship every week, Testament presents Advent, Christmas, and Easter music for the church each year, periodically performs special musical programs for the church and community, provides musical leadership during Youth Ministry Sunday (a youth-led worship service), and presents a concert of music prepared for their annual summer choir tour. In past years, Testament has traveled to Minneapolis, Chicago, New Orleans, Nashville, Disney World & Disneyland, Colorado Springs, St. Louis and Washington DC. During their journeys they have sung in churches, nursing homes, homeless shelters and assisted living facilities. The primary purpose of the choir tour is to build community within the choir. While sharing Christ on the road with others, Testament members sing music from memory, participate in devotions, work in mission, learn more about who Christ is and who Christ can be in their lives, create a joyous sound, and live a spiritual experience like no other.
